Butter Chicken, creamy Indian curry
Butter chicken, also known as murgh makhani, is one of the most beloved Indian dishes. Chicken is marinated in yoghurt and spices, roasted in a tandoor, and then served in a tomato sauce with butter and cream.
The dish was created in the 1950s at Moti Mahal restaurant in Delhi. The key to its authentic flavour is a blend of garam masala, kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves) and plenty of butter. It is served with naan bread or rice.
