Bratwurst - German grilled sausage

Bratwurst is the most famous German sausage made from finely ground pork seasoned with pepper, nutmeg and marjoram. It is grilled over an open flame until golden with a crispy skin.

Germany boasts over 40 regional varieties. The most well-known are the Thuringian, the miniature Nuremberg version and the Franconian with honey. It is served in a bread roll with mustard.
